SCULPTURES BY MARK LANDWEHR AND SVEN WASCHK
THIS IS COARSE
Sculptures by the German duo known as coarse are fabricated in the artists’ studios in Los Angeles [California] and Berlin [Germany]. Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk take the melancholy and visual simplicity inherent to German art and fuse it with a sophisticated sense of irreverence, resulting in multi-faceted sculptures and a distinctively unique aesthetic.
Every few months, selected original sculptures become small-run vinyl replicas and are available online to collectors worldwide.
Through solo exhibitions in Berlin, Tokyo, Seoul, Chicago, and now Los Angeles, as well as brand collaborations with the likes of Warner Bros., Richard Mille for Pharrell Williams, Diesel, Vans, and Ikea, Landwehr and Waschk have established a base of collectors around the world.
