To celebrate 20 years of vinyl storytelling, we are proud to present Flake – Loser and Pain, anniversary editions of the iconic skateboarder that marked coarse’s beginning in 2003.

The original bust was hand-sculpted by Mark Landwehr two decades ago and was never sold or released, remaining an original sculpture in the coarse vault. Pain is a replica of the original monochrome, blood-splashed handmade bust, re-sculpted with new techniques. Loser finds Flake in dreamy blues with a splash of pink smeared across his face.

This sculpture represents one of the most important moments in coarse’s history and two decades later its meaning still resonates with us.
